Take a food tour of the south of the island and feel a taste of Tenerife. You will get acquainted with the Canarian cuisine and enjoy admired wine, while tasting it at the Mencey de Chasna and Lagar de Chasna wineries. You will also visit a banana plantation Finca Las Margaritas and an aloe vera farm, where you will learn the secrets of growing these crops.
We will start our day with a visit to a banana plantation - Finca Las Margaritas. There you will learn about the cultivation of our main fruit - the banana. You will be taken on a tour of the farm where you will know how bananas were grown in the past and how gofio is obtained. You will have the opportunity to taste local products, as well as palm honey and tropical fruits.
Our second stop will be at one of the most renowned wineries on the island - Mencey de Chasna. We will take a guided tour of the winery, and you will learn all about the winemaking process. At the end of the visit we will have a wine tasting.
We will continue our tour enjoying the marvellous views offered by the mountain road towards Vilaflor and arrive at the Lagar de Chasna winery. In addition to the wine tasting, you will also enjoy a delicious lunch during which you will be able to enjoy the best of Canarian cuisine.
The final point of the excursion will be an aloe vera farm in Arona. There you will visit ecological plantations and learn how aloe is grown and a natural gel with high healing properties is obtained from it.
